X-2 Light Speed Pro Edition:

The X-2 Light Speed Pro Edition is the best of the best. This motor has it all: Torque, Speed, and High Voltage capabilities. Unlike other high speed motors, the X-2 Pro Edition retains its torque through its ultra fat silver magnetic wire. This wire offers significantly lower resistance and in turn gives this beast incredible torque and speed. The X-2 Pro Edition also uses an unusually large armature rotor to maximize the motors torque and corner acceleration. The motor also features an installed 18g drill free motor plug to maximize performance. We’ve worked on this motor for months and the results are astonishing. A 12C 7.4v Li-Poly yielded 80 km/h which translates to 50mph!

*Unlike competitor’s tests, WE DO NOT conduct bare chassis tests. Bare chassis tests have no onboard electronics and no onboard batteries. Tests are conducted on nothing more then an Xmod chassis and electric motor. This causes the Xmod to be extremely light weight and greatly boosts the dyno results. Bare chassis testing does not reflect correct results and are used for nothing more than to shown inflated speed results.

The X-2 features an ultra ventelated ball bearing can. It’s designed to cool the motor in most efficient manner. The endbell has several vent slots to keep the brushes a comm as cool as possible.

The X-2 features very unique internal components. Its large rotor arm gives the X-2 phenomenal acceleration on open and circuit tracks. Perhaps the most unique aspect of the X-2 is it’s winding pattern. The X-2 Pro Edition features ultra low resistant silver wire along with a special tuned winding. This means more power gets to the motor improving the motors torque and speed. The X-2’s commutator uses what is known as a “FAT” comm. Unlike similar “FAT” commutators, the commutator in the X-2 is 1mm thick! It’s large size works like a heat sink and disperses heat to keep it from detearating from the commutator contacts. (Yes, it’s very possible to melt a comm off its foundation at high temps/RPMS)

The X-2 series uses the highest quality neodymium magnets. We use the thickest and most powerful magnets available. Unlike low quality neo magnets, the magnets we use have been cured for high temperature exposure of up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that the magnet will not loose power from high temperature exposure. The X-2 uses high composite carbon brushes for electrical transfer. The brushes are ideal for high voltage and high RPMs.

Each X-2 motor goes through thorough inspection and testing faze before its final sale. Every X-2 is pre-broken at a constant 3v for approximately 15 minutes. To improve the quality of break in, we use Tribo’s comm drops. After the motor is broken in, the motor’s brushes and commutator are cleaned with Team Orion electric motor cleaning formula to offer the best possible contact and conductivity. Each motor is lubricated with Tribo comm drops.

Note: I've gotten many questions on how this motor stacks up against motors that claim to have higher speeds. Our testing & development on the X-2 Pro has shown that there's a performance peak in the 130 size motor category. The X-2 Pro has achieved this performance peak to perfection. We've used the best possible supplies to utilize the X-2 Pro. Although it's possible to make any motor faster (including the X-2 Pro), you're significantly sacrificing the motor's ability to perform correctly by reducing the motor's torque. In other words, you'll never get into those 60MPH speeds because your motor doesn't have enough power to get there. Remember, the cost of high speed is torque. Through months of testing and developing, we were able to get a perfect balance of speed without sacrificing any torque.
